OUR STORY
altered genius brewing co. is a craft brewery with production in Ambridge, PA. Considerable time and effort has been dedicated towards the rehabilitation of a former hot dog shoppe and barber school and its conversion into a 10bbl production facility and an inviting pub space. We selectively self-distribute and have our beer available at a few locations in the Pittsburgh area. Recently, we have opened a SECOND LOCATION (Trailside Taproom) at 258 Main Street, Imperial PA.

Our business is a collaboration of three families bringing you outstanding beer and a great environment in which you can enjoy that beer with family and friends.

Our trio of families include Donnie and Becky and their two boys, Mike and Shannon and their three girls, and Kerri and Ken and their two girls. We all value family and want to provide an environment that welcomes you and yours.

The Brewers
Donnie and Mike are the brewers at altered genius brewing co.
​
While working together as teachers in alternative education, they began the supposed hobby of brewing beer together in 2008. Their creativity and attention to detail were perfectly suited for the craft, and they make a wide variety of beer-styles. The hobby fostered a dream, that's now become reality.

Obviously, they are fortunate and thankful to have the support and commitment of their families, and friends in their efforts!
